GeoAct Pulse

History mode

Review past earthquake and volcano activity by date.

Pulse history mode lets you move away from live monitoring and inspect a specific previous day. You can keep the same globe, event log, and time display preferences while switching the dataset from live feed mode to a historical cache.

Date-based browsing

Pick a past day and Pulse replaces the live dataset with historical earthquake and volcano records.

Consistent filters

Type filters, earthquake magnitude filters, and volcano level filters still apply in history mode.

Time display control

Use local time, UTC, or local plus UTC to compare event timing from different regions.

Back to Live

One action returns the globe and log to the real-time feed without losing your monitoring preferences.

What historical browsing is useful for

History mode is useful when you want to review a specific earthquake day, compare a sequence before and after a major event, or inspect volcano and earthquake activity outside the current live window.

  • Study how a sequence developed across a previous day.
  • Compare the largest event with the surrounding timeline context.
  • Share a stable date-based view when discussing a past event window.
